RALEIGH, NC. -With the prospects in town for the week, it allowed us the opportunity to sit down with 2023 first-round draft pick Bradly Nadeau.
Here are the questions you wanted to know about him, answered.
What was the draft process like and did you have a feeling the Canes were going to take you? - @nickascanlon
The draft process was amazing. Having my family and my brother, who I've played with the last two years, there that night was special. (When I got picked), it was an incredible moment.
I didn't really know the Canes were going to draft me. I talked to a lot of teams at the combine, but I'm happy to be here. It's a great organization and I'm really happy that they took a chance on me.
Was the process leading up to the draft stressful?
Yeah, it was. When they called my name it was a huge relief, but leading up to it, it was definitely stressful.
He's a really good guy. I respect him a lot. All of the players do, and other players too. He's a professional.
He's obviously in great shape. I'm happy to be a part of the same organization.
What are you most looking forward to about going to the University of Maine? - @GlepHockey
I'm definitely excited about going there.
It's a shorter season, so I'll be able to get stronger. The ambiance at the games is amazing, so I'm really looking forward to being a part of that.
What was your favorite thing about Penticton?
The fans. They were really amazing.
They always came to support us. It was a smaller city, so it made it fun to be there. The weather was really nice too.
What is one your best or most memorable moments from youth hockey? - @MLeeJr
I think my first goal. I was playing as an underager that year and I only scored one goal that entire year, but that's one moment that will always stand out for me.
Who were some of your favorite players growing up? - @ella\_a3678
Sidney Crosby, being from The Maritimes, you know.
I've always liked watching him and I enjoy the way that he plays the game. I've always tried to learn things when I'm watching him.
Who is the best player you've played against thus far in your career? - @reecebai05
At the U-18 level, I played against Zach Benson. He's a really good player.
He got drafted in the first round by Buffalo.
What makes hockey special to you? What motivates you to keep pushing for that next level? - @LikeFiftyNinjas
It's a fun sport. When I play hockey I forget about everything else.
I want to get better because I have the dream of playing in the NHL, so that continues to give me motivation. We all want to accomplish our dreams and it keeps me out of trouble in life.
I have a goal in mind and I want to make it happen.
If you didn't end up a hockey player, what would you have done job-wise? - @cocowestcliffe
My dad owns a farm back home I've been working there the past few summers, so if I wouldn't be playing hockey, I probably would just be there.
