Jumpin' Jarvis:With two goals Saturday against St. Louis, rookie Seth Jarvis now had three multi-point games in his last five games played. His 12 goals now rank tied for eighth among all rookies and his 26 points have him sitting tied for tenth, also among all first-year players.
30/30 Club:Jaccob Slavin added an assist in the victory over the Blues, marking his 30th helper of the season. He now joins Tony DeAngelo as the first pair of defenseman to each have 30 assists in a season since the team relocated to Raleigh.
Three For The Dynamic Duo:Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen both enter tonight on three-game point streaks.
One More Chance At The Caps:Carolina enters the fourth and final meeting with Washington 0-2-1 in the season series. In two of the three meetings the Canes have been leading in the third period.
A Look At The Other Side:Washington enters tonight 7-2-1 in their last 10 and 9-2-1 since the turn of the calendar month. This time last month Columbus was making a push to overtake the Capitals fourth spot in the division but Peter Laviolette's squad has since pulled away, now with a 15-point gap. Ovechkin continues to lead the way offensively with 78 points in 65 games, sitting just outside the NHL's Top 10 in scoring. #8 has scored in all three of his team's contests against the Canes thus far this year.
