RALEIGH, NC - The National Hockey League today announced that Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen is the team's nominee for the 2020 NHL All-Star Last Men In vote. Fans will vote to select one player from each division to attend the 2020 NHL All-Star Weekend from Jan. 24-25 in St. Louis.

Teravainen, 25, leads the Hurricanes in assists (31) and is tied for the team lead in points (38). He has recorded a point in 27 of Carolina's 39 games and he has posted three point streaks of five games or longer this season. The 5'11", 196-pound forward registered career highs in assists (55) and points (76) during the 2018-19 season and added 10 points (7g, 3a) in 15 games during the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, as the Hurricanes advanced to the Eastern Conference Final. Teravainen has tallied 220 points (66g, 154a) in 284 career Hurricanes games, and he has skated in 239 consecutive games for the fourth-longest ironman streak in franchise history. In his NHL career, he has recorded 264 points (83g, 181a) in 399 games with Chicago and Carolina.
The Helsinki, Finland, native has represented his country at the World Cup (2016), the IIHF World Championship (2018) and the IIHF World Junior Championships (2013, 2014), winning gold as Finland's captain at World Juniors in 2014. Teravainen was acquired by the Hurricanes on June 15, 2016 along with Bryan Bickell from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft (Artur Kayumov) and a third-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft (Keith Petruzzelli). Teravainen was drafted by Chicago in the first round, 18th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.
