Brind'Amour's Metropolitan Division Wins 2022 All-Star Game

LAS VEGAS, NV. -Rod Brind'Amour, Sebastian Aho and Frederik Andersen earned another victory Saturday, as their Metropolitan Division team was crowned champions of the 2022 NHL All-Star Game.

"The Metro" earned the title after
topping the Central Division, 5-3,
in the championship of a three-game, single-elimination, three-on-three tournament. All games consisted of two 10-minute periods.
Brind'Amour's crew reached the All-Star Final after
taking down the Pacific Division 6-4
to start the afternoon.
Sebastian Aho recorded a goal in the first contest of the afternoon, then assisted on Jack Hughes' game-winning goal en route to their second victory over the day.

Frederik Andersen, who played the first half in both games for the club, finished the day with 13 stops on 16 shots faced. His toughest test of the afternoon came moments after Aho's goal, where he was forced to turn away a racing Connor McDavid one-on-one.
The Canes netminder also recorded an assist on the first goal in the championship game, which shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of Carolina, given that his four assists already this season lead all NHL goalies.
The Metropolitan Division All-Stars split a one million dollar prize for winning the mid-season event.
Carolina's second half of play begins Monday when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs for their first of four road games in the upcoming week.
