With plenty of red, black and white visible around Denver leading up to puck drop Saturday, the crew made their way to Brooklyn's at Ball Arena, a popular sports bar right across the street from the site of the evening's matchup, pregame. Filling the second floor of the establishment to maximum capacity, Canes STMs were treated to dinner, a portion of the package that they signed up for, which also included a ticket to the game and a commemorative rally towel.
"This is incredible," Sue Bohnsack, a long-time supporter of the Canes began with plain to see happiness at the event. "When we first did this in Vegas there were limited numbers. Now, you get to meet people that maybe you don't know, or that you've seen at the games before."
"The comradery is great," Glenn Gorham echoed. An STM since the team moved to North Carolina, Gorham raved over having a setting where Caniacs could come together in addition to their time at PNC Arena.
"You get a chance to meet fellow Season Ticket Members, share the old-time stories and then together you get to make the new memories. It's really amazing."
While at the end of the night
the final result may not have gone the Canes way
, the discussions about where next year's trip should be to were already underway.
With Nashville, Seattle and Chicago as some of the first cities shouted by the group, ultimately one of the biggest factors in making the decision for next year will be finding a team that is willing to allow the opposing fan base to purchase several hundred tickets. Now with annual growth and the 300-person mark eclipsed, the group is already eager for news on where the 2022-23 schedule will take them and to see how many fellow Caniacs will be joining them.
