RALEIGH, NC - The Carolina Hurricanes will host the ninth annual Alumni Game presented by Lenovo on Sunday, January 12 at PNC Arena. This event provides fans a chance to skate alongside Hurricanes and, for the first time in franchise history, Whalers alumni and experience an NHL-like gameday at PNC Arena. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

A limited number of roster spots are available for fans interested in participating in the Alumni Game. Tickets will go on sale to season ticket members, suite holders and corporate partners at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20 and are first-come, first-served. Any remaining spots will go on sale to the general public on Friday, November 22. Players must be at least 18 years old and have hockey-playing experience. The entry fee for playing in the Alumni Game is $4,000 and includes participation in the game on the ice and the full gameday player experience. In addition, participants will receive four tickets for the Hurricanes' home game against the Arizona Coyotes on January 10 and four tickets for the Hurricanes' home game against the LA Kings on January 11 (Whalers Night), and they will practice on the ice at PNC Arena prior to the game on January 11. Following the game on January 11, there will be a Team Announcement Party where participants will be placed on either the new Hurricanes White Jersey team or the Hartford Whalers Green Jersey team. They will also receive a personalized Hurricanes jersey with a special Alumni Game patch, a downloadable version of the Alumni Game, and access for four people to a cocktail reception following the Alumni Game.

The Alumni Game is open to the public to attend and no ticket is required, though there will be an optional contribution at the door to benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation. Stormy and the Pepsi Storm Squad will be in attendance, and off-ice activities at the game will be very similar to a Hurricanes home game. The game will consist of three 20-minute periods and will include one full intermission following the second period.
The Carolina Hurricanes Foundation provides funding to children's nonprofits with a health or education focus and youth hockey organizations throughout North Carolina. As the charitable arm of the Carolina Hurricanes, the Foundation takes pride in being a part of the community both on and off the ice. Throughout the season, the Foundation raises funds through annual special events, in-game auctions, mystery fundraisers and generous direct donations. The funds raised are awarded to nonprofits in the community via an annual grant process. During the 2018-19 season, the Foundation donated a total of $450,000 in cash grants to 25 different children's charities and youth hockey organizations in North Carolina. Together, with the support of our fans, the Foundation is off to a great start for the 2019-20 season and is proud to make a positive, collective impact in our community.
